Hello

I am designing a device based on S32K148-T-Box Reference Design, by my design I need to develop CAN communication with 125 KBd (Low-Speed CAN that should meet ISO 11898-3 ).

There are 3 CAN interface on the Reference design, TJA1044GT/3 , TJA1043TKY, and UJA1131HW/FD/5V/0 (SBC), there are 3 questions:

1) can I use one of the above ports to communicate with low speed 125KBd, and which one prefered?

2) Should I replace one of TJA1043TKY or TJA1044GT/3 with another chip that support 125KBd (ISO 11898-3)?

3) if answer to question 2 is yes, which part number I can use?

Thank you for your support.

Nader

Hello Nader,

The ISO11898-3 is a different standard and the TJA1055 is supporting that one. It is so called Fault tolerant CAN

I am afraid that TJA1043 does not support that standard.

David

Hello Nader,

Have you considered using the TJA1055T: Fault-Tolerant CAN Transceiver?

The TJA1055 is the interface between the protocol controller and the physical bus wires in a Controller Area Network (CAN). It is primarily intended for low-speed applications of up to 125 kBd in passenger cars.

Please let me know if you need any further recommendation.

Regards,

David

Hello David,

Thanks for reply,

Actualy, TJA1055T (golden Chip) is a very good suggestion, but before changing the PCB design I prefer to know if I can use TJA1043TKY at first, So, any Idea about how to use TJA1043TKY to support ISO 11898-3?

Regards,

Nader
