Hi,

Does NXP provides Amplifier circuits for NFC Readers ?
How should be this circuits connected with the reader ? is there any hardware guide for designing an amplifier circuit and connecting it to the reader ?

Thanks

Hi @Kan_Li  ,

Does using an amplifier circuit improve the range of the reading operation distance between the tag and the reader?

Thanks in advance.

Hi @amighri ,

Yes, that can be done.

Please be aware that the amplifier delivers more RF power, but it does not provide a better coupling. Thus, the cards might be powered at a larger distance, but the Rx might not be able to receive the card response in that case.

Hope that makes sense,

Have a great day,
Kan

Hi @amighri ,

Please kindly refer to https://www.nxp.com/docs/en/application-note/AN1425_AN166510.zip for details, in which you may find an application note on this topic as well as an excel file for calculation the parameters.

Hope that helps,

Have a great day,
Kan
