I have a USBDM that uses MC9S08JM60.Its USBDM version is 4.9.4 and Its hardware date is 2011/10/27.It works well. Now I want to debug Kinetis L series chip. So,I update the firmware to Version V4_10 and Install the USBDM_4_10_4a_Win.msi.But It doesn't work.I log in the community and find the new hardware in package version 4.10.0.Did you change the hardware? Can firmware V4_10 work on my USBDM board?

Hi Wang,

The Kinetis MKL series of devices only have a SWD interface.  It is likely that the version of USBDM you have only supports the JTAG interface used on the MK devices.

sorry!

Please see the table on this page:

USBDM: USBDM Debugger interface for Freescale RS08,HCS08,HCS12,Coldfire and ARM-Kinetis Devices.

Hi pgo,

Can firmware V4_10 work on my USBDM board ? Do you mean I must change my hardware?

if my USBDM supports the JTAG interface, why I can't debug K60?

if I need a new hardware,is JMxx_PCB_2_1_0  OK?

Hi Wang,

I'm having trouble identifying which BDM you have.  Does it resemble either of the following:

http://aarnet.dl.sourceforge.net/project/usbdm/Version%204.10.5/Hardware/USBDM_CF_JMxxCLD.pdf

http://aarnet.dl.sourceforge.net/project/usbdm/Version%204.10.5/Hardware/USBDM_JMxxCLD.pdf

The first supports JTAG on the MK series devices e.g. MKL60 etc.

The latter doesn't support Kinetis at all.

The new versions are described on the previous quoted page:

USBDM: USBDM Debugger interface for Freescale RS08,HCS08,HCS12,Coldfire and ARM-Kinetis Devices.
