Ethercat, Profinet, PROFIBUS, CAN, RS232, etc. are extensively used in communications networks in factories, buildings, transport infrastructures and monitoring/control equipment in our cities. Technologies such as EtherCAT, PROFINET and EtherNet/IP are testament to this. In this session, we will explore how QorIQ LS1 processor families can help equipment manufacturers span this landscape using a QUICC Engine (QE) controller for UART/Ethernet-based protocol implementation, an Enhanced Triple Speed Ethernet Controller (eTSEC) for intelligent Ethernet classification and 2-port switching, and an eight-port gigabit Ethernet switch for wire-rate switching. Further we will look on how QorIQ LS1 family meet the emerging Internet of Things (IoT) requirements as also as the Broadband Home router and NAS market. Presented by Gino Gatto Presented at DwF Istanbul and Ankara- May 12 and 14, 2015 Session ID: EUF-SNT-T1468

With the price per bit of hard disk drive storage continuing to fall, large capacity drives are now available at prices accessible to many consumers. This has led to the growth in popularity of “personal cloud” solutions where the drive is attached to the home wired or wireless network and acts as a central store or back-up system for the devices in the home, known as “consumer Network Attached Storage” or cNAS. This session will introduce the QorIQ LS1024A dual-core communication processor and the optimized cNAS solution offered with this device and used in products such as the WD MyCloud and Synology DS414j. Presented by Jim Bridgwater Presented at DwF Silicon Valley - March 26, 2015 Session ID: AMF-SNT-T0979

The news of the past year hasn’t been encouraging for those who wished cyberspace would avoid becoming a geopolitical battleground. It is now confirmed that national governments are exploiting weaknesses in network infrastructure and end point security to conduct cyber surveillance and disrupt the operations of networks and other critical infrastructure. But with QorIQ platforms, embedded systems designers can do more than throw up their hands and surrender. QorIQ products include features like secure boot, which OEMs can use to make it significantly harder for their systems to be hacked. This session will briefly describe the threats which the Trust Architecture is intended to address and provide an overview the features and methods it uses to resist hacks. Presented by Geoff Waters Presented at DwF Silicon Valley - March 26, 2015 Session ID: AMF-SNT-T1041
