Hi NXP support team.

We are using the pn7150 for mifare classic 1K card reading and we are experiencing problems with carrier not being generated and card type being incorrectly recognized.

We have 4 pn7150 chips integrated on our PCB board, reading 4 different locations of M1 cards (antennas are separated). 4 chips are turned on in rotation, switching one chip every 200ms (each switching hard resets the chip and pulls down the VEN). After 3 months of continuous operation, the boards successively had problems of carrier failure and incorrect card type recognition.
The faulty boards were analyzed and found:
1: The crystal of PN7150 is not output on the faulty channel where the carrier cannot be generated.
2: The faulty channel with wrong card type recognition, by analyzing the IIC communication, the communication protocol returned by RF_INTF_ACTIVATED_NTF is T1T instead of M1.UID can be correctly obtained.

We also found that: the faulty board  using 400 degrees of hot air gun blowing for 2 minutes to cool down and re-power up the fault channel can not generate  carrier wave converted to card type recognition error,  and then blowing for 2 minutes, the fault disappeared.Both the uid and the data block can be read now.;
Card type recognition error fault channel using 400 degrees of hot air gun blowing 2 minutes fault disappears. And continuous work for 1 week failure has not recurred.
The use of 100 degrees Celsius coated with heat-conductive silicone soldering iron on the work of the fault PN7150 chip fixed-point heating for 30 seconds, the card recognition error fault disappears. Take away the soldering iron for 5 seconds, the fault appears again. Heating the crystal oscillator, matching circuit failure will not disappear. We are puzzled by this phenomenon.
We wonder if it is due to the damage of the EEPROM inside the pn7150? (In our application, we don't use CORE-SET-CONFIG_CMD frequently to configure the EEPROM)
May I ask if frequent hard resets of the pn7150 have any effect?

In addition to that, on our normal boards, the probability of authentication failure during read is high, once in a few hundred data blocks read.

My email is 737638565@qq.com. Your support in this period is very helpful to us.
Thanks and best regards.

So, the faulty board after using the 400 degree of hot air gun blowing, is it never have the error again?   It seems that this is the soldering common issue.
