Has anyone managed to read the TID of an NTAG213 using an Apple iPhone 7 with iOS 11, and if so - with which app?
Any help is greatly appreciated

Yes, I have. You need to install the "NFC Ideas" app first: Nfc Ideas in de App Store
Than, when you want to read an NFC tag, make sure you have started the NFC Ideas app. Use this one for reading the tag.
Apple announced to support reading NFC from iPhone 7 and up, having iOS 11 and up. Nevertheless, I feel the usage is limited:
1) You need to use a specific app to be able to read the NFC tag.
2) If you read a URL from NFC, this app is able to open a browser and bring up the web page. But if you have scripted something on the NFC (like connect to WiFi), it will not be able to execute that.
I hope this will change soon.
Hello,
Please refer to the NFC TagInfo by NXP on the App Store for iOS Devices
https://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/nfc-taginfo-by-nxp/id1246143596?mt=8
And to the NXP support page for developers on www.nxp.com/nfc; or: http://www.nxp.com/NFC/app-dev-resource-hub
Please note that currently the TagInfo app works with programmed tags only (you can e.g.: easily program a NFC tag with an Android phone using NXP tagWriter app or an USB NFC reader).
The next release of the “TagInfo for iOS app” will also return the TID, release expected in week of Oct 9th.
More support tools are just about to be released, see some overview in the article:
