NTAG 5 Power Harvesting I2C Transparent Mode

Hi, I wanted to clarify something in the datasheet for the NTAG5 Boost regarding power harvesting. I saw a similar post but I have a slightly different application. I am trying to make as compact a pure i2c sensor passthrough device as possible without the need for a uC.

The AN12368 says that VCC must be connected in order for the I2C transparent mode to be used. I just want to make sure that we are able to use VOUT from the power harvesting in order to supply this. Is this in order to power the SRAM through VCC as it's not internally powered by default via the power harvesting?

Also regarding the ALM, can that also be powered via VOUT, or will it require more power than the power harvesting can supply? Meaning we need an external source like a battery? The datasheet lists VCC and VCC_TX as "external source", but I wasn't sure if we could just connect both to VOUT.

Hello atching,

NTAG5 Boost uses "Active Load Modulation", so it is required to have an external power supply, e.g., a battery.

Then, the external source will be used for VCC and VCC_TX.
