How does the sensitivity of the Ultralight EV1 compare to the NTAG21* Family?

When I look at the datasheets, the Ultralight EV1 looks very much like the NTAG21* family, minus the preformatted NDEF.

My goal is to have a tag like the Ultralight EV1 or NTAG21* but with the best sensitivity (given the "same" antenna (25x25mm round) )

Since the 50 pF measurements are the same, is it a safe way to say the sensitivities are the same?

Does the 17 pF Ultralight EV1 suffer from lower sensitivities given the same antenna setup?

Hello Jeff Chan,

Using NTAG21x and MIFARE Ultralight EV1 ICs with the same input capacitance (e.g. 50 pF), the sensitivity or read range would be the same.

The antenna designed for a 50 pF tag IC should not be used with a 17 pF tag IC, otherwise the tuning would be incorrect. For the 17 pF Ultralight EV1 tag the antenna will need more inductance, e.g. by adding coil turns or changing the form factor (size). The detailed information is in application note AN11276:
