DESFire EV1 UIDs Ending in "81" Not Functional at PACs Reader

An existing PACS application site is now having issues with cards in the new "81" series of 7-Byte UIDs. For years the UIDs ending in "80" have and are still recognized at the readers.  Are changes to the PACS application code or at the reader to accommodate the "81" series?  Is there a possible padding issue?

Hi Susan,

There is actually no specification that says that UIDs need to end with 80. So I'm wondering why the PACS reader is having problems here? Are the cards not activated? This 81 also is not a series, this depends on how the IC's are numbered during production.

Maybe it will help if you contact the system integrator to check why this specific cards might be rejected.

Can you elaborate why and where you expect padding to be the issue?

Thanks,

Best regards, Florian
