Connecting to WiFi through an NFC Tag encoded by NXP Tagwriter

Hi,

We are currently using NXP Tagwriter to encode WiFi credentials to a tag. Could someone confirm that when an NFC enabled device taps onto the tag they will automatically connect to the locations WiFi? Or is this not the case?

Please see attached images. We have trialled it and what appears when tapped onto the tag is in screenshot 1.

Any feedback would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Tom.

Hi Tom,

Automatic wifi connect feature was added in Android L, so make sure your phone devices >= Lollipop.

below link shows it in detail:

Hi,

Thank you for your response. But I am still having the same issue.

The tag has been encoded with the WIFI details, but when the device taps onto the Tag that is encoded it appears like in the screenshot attached and doesn't connect to the WIFI.

Also, when the tag is encoded with the WIFI details, can Windows Phones connect automatically or is it only for Android?

Best Regards

Tom.
