Hey!

I need a development board that can run a 48V/1kW BLDC motor with sensored FOC implementation. Please suggest if you have any.

If you don't have any evaluation board for my specification, please suggest a suitable microcontroller and gate driver.

Hello,

We have one development kit for 48V with options for S32K1 or S32K3 device.

But since the release will be next month I am not allowed to share details here on community.

If you could create ticket and state all the requirements I can share with your kit overview.

Hi Peter,

I will reform my question. Right now I am using the power stage  Motor GD DevKit with MPC5744P EVB rev. E. Is there any other power stage, which is compatible with MPC5744P (just plugin) and has more power?

Thanks

Hello,
Yes, there is possibility but it will require some effort.
You can use MPC5744P EVB rev. E board, I expect you are referring to this one:

You can connect this board to power stage via PCI:

https://www.nxp.com/design/designs/3-phase-reference-design-for-hybridpack-drive-igbt-sic-module-fea...

you will need to cut the PCI cable and inset the wires into the devkit board connector. (the connector is standard)

Or to the :

https://www.nxp.com/design/designs/3-phase-reference-design-for-hp-drive-featuring-gd3160:RDGD3160I3...

Where you will need inverted from infineon: (for example)

https://www.digikey.at/de/products/detail/infineon-technologies/FS820R08A6P2BBPSA1/7324175?utm_adgro...

This one is compatible with our boards, so you will just push and connect it to it.

But all of this depends on the project budget and will require addition effort to get it running.

This is just a brief overview on possible solution.

Best regards,

Peter

Hi Peter,

Thanks for the detailed answer. Yes, you are right,  I am speaking about MPC5744P EVB rev. E .

  1. If I understand you correctly, the mentioned boards in the first and second links are just Gate Drivers for the IGBTs/MOSFETs e.g. FS820R08A6P2BBPSA1, which is mentioned in the third link. right?
  2. How about FRDM-MC-LVPMSM ? Is it compatible with MPC5744P EVB rev. E or we need to connect the signals individually?

Thanks in adavance!
