iMXRT-1170-EVK and iMXRT-1170-EVKB difference?

NXP staff, please answer a question. I purchased an iMXRT-1170-EVKB.
I can successfully burn and debug using the official MCUXpresso IDE, but when using the MBDT of Matlab Simulink for burning, it failed.

May I ask if the EVKB (not EVK) supports the MBDT Toolbox?

If it supports, when using burning, which of the following methods should be selected:

1 Opensda

2 MCU

3 JTAG

Hello, @DavidQIAN

Firstly, we apologize for the late response and thank you for using NXP products.

The main difference between these 2 MIMXRT1170 evaluation boards is that MIMXRT1170-EVK has the on-board OpenSDA circuit which will let the user to flash the MCU  by drag & drop the binary file directly to a virtual mass storage device. The MIMXRT1170-EVKB has the LPC55S69 MCU which is the basis for MCU-Link debug probe.

NXP Model-Based Design Toolbox is not dependent on evaluation kits. It has been designed to support custom hardware boards. The examples delivered in the toolbox indeed have been tested and were created for official NXP evaluation kits.

As the MIMXRT1170-EVKB is a new EVK that NXP has launched recently, we did not test any of our delivered examples on this board. But in any case, we are not aware of any limitation using MCU-Link flashing method from MBDT. You should not encounter any issues by deploying the Simulink models to this EVKB. You simply have to choose the MCU Link download method for this evaluation board, as the on-board debugger is based on MCU-Link.

But anyway, we are going to investigate further the new MIMXRT1170-EVKB.

Hope this helps!

Best regards!

Stefan.
