We're looking at needing some more ethernet ports, but are having issues finding it in the Kinetis family. Is MQX available on the PowerQUICC II series?

Hi Jeinstei,

How many ethernet ports do you need? Have you checked MPC family as well?

We're looking at 3 ports on the MPS8309, but that IS a PowerQUICC II Pro.

We haven't found any good ways to add an extra two ports to the K60 yet. As we need the K60 to have access to two completely separate networks, it seems like the most cost effective solution is a PowerQUICC vs throwing down PHYs. Any other ides?

We were looking at a Switch Controller IC with VLANs, but that would still not be two separate networks as the RTCS stack doesn't recognize VLAN tagging (as far as I can tell).

There are MQX ports for Power Quicc II pro however they are not part of the Freescale enablement program so you won't find them in the downloadable version. They are available for a license fee.  Or as an option you may be interested in some technical support to get you started with adding additional ethernet ports.

Feel free to contact us at info@embedded-access.com if this might be of interest.
