Has anyone tried installing the MQX FFS Software package on Windows 8.1?

When I install the MQX FFS software package on my Windows 8.1 machine and then reboot, when I log back in the APP tiles have been removed from the Start & APP menus and I get a blank screen. Note that the tiles do not disappear until I have rebooted. The applications are still installed because I can search for them and run them fine. I was able to replicate this issue on two different Windows 8.1 PC’s. It also seems to effect each user on the system. If I uninstall the MQX FFS package then the tiles return to both the Start & APP menus. The MQX RTOS package seems to install okay without any effects to the OS.

Procedure:

1. Installed MQX 4.0.2 (FSLMQXOS_4_0_2_GA.exe) as an admin.
2. Applied Patch 4.0.2.1
3. Applied Patch 4.0.2.2
4. Installed MQX FFS (FSLMQXOS_4_0_2_FFS.exe) as an admin.
5. Reboot.

I also tried installing FSLMQXOS_4_0_2_FFS.exe in Windows 7 compatibility mode.

Is there anything I can do to get the MQX FFS package installed without corrupting the OS?

I tried this according to your procedure with my PC –windows 7 enterprise SP1. My result is OK.,

Maybe it is a compatibility issue with Windows 8.1, I will report this issue to software team,  sorry for the inconvenience that caused.
