use the etimer of mpc5744 to simulate Incremental encoder and receiver the data from sensor

     I want to use the ETIMER of mpc5744 to simulate the incremental encode to receive the data from the sensor using the A/B/Z phase mode, but I donnot know how to configure the registers, and I also cannot find the demo.

read description of eTimer's Quadrature count mode within device reference manual.
Not sure of simple demo, you can for example refer to some motor control AN, like https://www.nxp.com/docs/en/application-note/AN4561.pdf (chapter 5.4.2 Encoder decoding)

     First, I want to know whether the module of  etimer have the autocapture function. If it not, how it capture the pulse rising edge. Whether I nend use the module of PIT. 

    Second, I want to apply a demo which is a complete project how the MPC5744 control the BLDC.
