Hi Sir/Madam,

 

I have two MPC5602P chips. The chips are on my own boards, not EV board. The PCB design of the two boards are the same. I cannot program and erase one of the MPC5602P chips with P&E multilink universal but the other one works. The information is shown below. I created and compiled a new Test project for MPC5602p.

  • failed to erase the chip when I clicked “Erase Whole Device”

  • failed to download code to the chip. (see attached log)

  • Although It cannot be programed and erased, it can be connected to browse its memory for dflash and cflash. (0x00000000 – 0x00040000 & 0x00800000 – 0x000810000, values are all 0xFFFFFFFF if I did not overlook anything)

What could be the culprit of the issue since the other board works well for programming and erasing.

You says you have two identical boards with two identical MCUs, correct (could you spedify exact devices' part number i.e. all lines printed on the chip)? One is working, one not. Do you have more prototype boards? Have you tried A-B-A swap test?
