XOSC need enable in DCF?

I download a test code on self-made MPC5777M board , which works well on EVB board. I find the external crystal does not vibrate. When I check the MRM, I find this:

does that mean I must configure DCF on my board to make crystal work?

Hi,

Yes, you have to enable the XOSC in UTEST miscellaneous DCF record.

To do so you can use our DCF calculator:

Well,

The EVB do not use crystal after reset. SW runs from IRC 16MHz. User can enable crystal from SW later on.

If you want to have crystal active right after reset you must program it in DCF records.

Peter
