I need an i2c interface to connect the temperature sensor.

NXP has a spi interface temperature sensor or not.

Another question, whether the eSCI interface can be configured as uart mode for RS232 or RS422.

Thank you.

I2C module is not present with MPC5777C.

For connection of external sensor you may use DSPI module (recommended).

If I2C is necessary then you could possibly also use I2C function running on eTPU module (I would not recommend because number of required pins is doubled). Such function is provided by third-party provider:

https://www.ashware.com/i2c-driver

RS232/RS422/RS485 standard is given by version of physical layer connected to device externally, so yes, they can be used with MPC5777C’s eSCI interface.
