S32DS for Power PC GCC toolchain support of e200z0 core

I am interested to know if the GCC toolchain included with S32DS for Power will support e200z0 cores, such as MPC5604P and MPC5604B.  The MPC57xx devices which are shown on the S32DS page include e200z2, e200z4, and e200z7 cores.  Can we target e200z0 with this toolchain?

Thanks,

Michael Goudey

Hi,

Officialy S32DS will not support MPC56xx devices.

There is no possibility to generate project for those devices.

However if you create project yourself, add linker, etc... I see no reason why it wont work.

I have to recommend you to use CW for MPC56xx devices.

Hi Peter,

I'm migrating my MPC5602P device software from CCW to S32DS.

As per your previous suggestion

Is it preferable to move to S32DS or not?

Kindly suggest.

Thank,

Raju

Hi,

Is it preferable to move to S32DS or not?

You can do it, but we are not supporting it.

Prefer to use  CW.

regards,

Peter

Well that's disturbing. When I started my current project, on a MPC5634M, I checked in with someone at Arrow/NXP and was told that the 5634 would be a fine processor and we should go with S32DS as Codewarrior was the old way and conversion to S32DS was the way.

Official guidance anyone?
