Hi Expert,

I would like to confirm the different description about reset phase duration time in AN4768 and RM.

For example, the minimum of phase0 given by RM is 3 fast internal RC oscillator (16 MHz) clock cycles, which should be 187.5ns. But in AN4758 this min value is 18us. Similar question about pashe1 and pashe2.

Could you share more info about the test data listed in AN4768? How to explain the gap to customer?

Thx.

Hello,

Which device do you have exactly in mind?

AN is general for SPC56xxB devices, which vary in specification.

Always stick to datasheet in case you are not sure. Datasheet is always created for that particular device.

Best regards,

Peter

Hi Peter,

The device is MPC5604C.

The DS didn't give a detail time range of each reset phase. So I recommend customer to refer AN4768, but found there is a big gap between RM and AN as described above.

Actually, customer want to know the max time to define if there is any risk in their design, the RM only give a min value.

Do you have any suggestion?

Hello,

I have check the Datasheet and I do not find any information about time in reset.

We do not specify the times in particular reset phases for this device as far as I know.

Maybe it would be good to get in touch with authors of AN, who did measurements to get more details on which device and under what conditions they did measurement.

On newer devices we have this spec also in datasheet.

Best regards,

Peter

Hello,

Well this is just a community thread.

Tickets are rised via NXP.com support.

Since you are NXP employee, you can get directly in contact with authors via Teams. Both of the authors are still in the company.

If you are FAE you have also direct contact to application engineers which makes it the fastest way.

Best regards,

Peter
