Hi,

I am using mpc5606b startertrak dev board . I have attached external transceivers TJA1050 with the CAN bus pins. I have supplied 5V to transceivers and thus the same logic voltage is applied to CAN port pins of mpc5606b. Can mpc5606b pins take 5V input? Will it damage the pins?

Hi,

TRK-MPC5606B is supplied by 5V only, it's not configurable to 3.3V. So, there's no problem, you can connect a transceiver supplied by 5V.

The microcontroller itself supports both 3.3V and 5V supply voltage. But if 3.3V is used, the GPIO pins are not 5V tolerant.

Regards,

Lukas
