Flexray communication between channel A and channel B

I was told that a Flexray controller has 2 channel, channel A and channel B. Assume that I connect a Flexray node A channel A with another Flexray Node B channel B, if the communication can be established between node A and B?

If my memory is good, the flexray frame consist of header CRC checksums, the header CRC and Frame CRC. The header CRC is the same and the Frame CRC is different on channel A and B, you can refer to the Flexray specification. Thus,  you cannot technically do the communication from node A send out a frame on channel A and node B receive that frame on channel B.

Hi,

I'm not Flexray expert but channel A and channel B can work independently (various network topology can be used) to increase bandwidth. For safety critical applications, messages can be transmitted simultaneously on both channels in order to achieve a redundancy.
