Flashing .rbf file into MPC5744P with DAPLink

Hello,

I am making a custom board with the MPC5744P, using the Devkit-MPC5744P as a inspiration. I planned on using the OpenSDA circuit on out custom board to program the MPC5744P on it. Later we would use this interface for RapID Bootloader implementation and programming from Matlab via UART. I was planning on using the DAP-Link firmware for this and I have successfully flashed and made that work on our custom board. Now I am facing a problem, how to flash the .rbf file onto the MPC5744Ps flash.

Is it possible to use the DAP-Link with the S32DS IDE? I have not found a CMSIS-DAP option in the debugging options or should I use the PEMicro debug options? But there in the debugger selection, there is no CMSIS-DAP probe option.

So I would like to ask you for a help. Is there any way how to program the .rbf file into the MPCs flash using DAP-Link?

Thank you for the reply. I do not think that thread answers the question.

So there is no way how to use DAP-Link as a USB/JTAG converter and flash the .rbf file into MPC5744P? I do not need any of the drag-n-drop programming features. Will at least UART bridge work?

May I ask you what is in your opinion the cheapest way how to flash the MPC5744P with the .rbf file? What kind of debugger/probe to use?

As mentioned in that thread, DAPLink is for Arm cores only. Not for PowerPC. And because OpenSDA is proprietary, this is not an option.

I usually recommend Multilink from Pemicro:

That should be one of the cheapest options. Using Multilink, you can load the rbf file either via S32DS or you can use this tool:

Pemicro provides free version limited to 64KB which is sufficient for loading of the RBF file.

I would have one additional question, do you think that the USB/UART bridge feature would work on the DAPLink interface with the MPC5744P´s UART?
