Hi,

I've been using MCUXpresso IDE for many years. 

MCUXpresso has had a quarterly release cadence, with new versions every 3 months.

For example v11.10.0_3148 -> v24.9.25 -> v24.12.148 were released in 2Q2024, 3Q2024 and 4Q2024. Is there a planned release date for the next version? I have been expecting a version v25.3/4/5 but nothing has been released this year.

Every time I start a new project I visit NXP website and check for a new release. Is the 'standalone' IDE now deprecated and must we use Vs-Code?

Hi @mark2,

MCUXpresso IDE is expected to continue receiving updates, and we have not received any information indicating a change in this status. It support the latest MCUs and SDK versions making it suitable for new designs.

MCUXpresso for VS Code is a new option for developing code for NXP MCUs. It also supports the latest MCUs and SDKs. However, the traditional MCUXpresso IDE offers broader support for older MCUs.
