RT1052 Connection from MCUXpresso with PEMicro Mulitlink Universal FX

Our board has an RT1052 connected to a QSPI Flash W25Q512JV (so larger than default, and QSPI, not HyperFLASH) part.

What is the expected way to connect MCUXpresso to our board with the PEmicro Multilink Unversal FX?

If I use the LPC-Link2 instead, I can just select the RT1052-QSPI generic loader, and it seems to work fine.
But if I want to load FLASH via the Multilink FX - seems I need to do a few more things?

No, all there 3 step are not needed. Please keep it as default. But there is one step you must do.

every time i try to launch with ^^^ - the console only provides the following output:

P&E Semihosting Console

Connection closed by the GDB server.
