I am on the latest MCUXpresso IDE v11.3.0 [Build 5222] [2021-01-11] on MacOS Big Sur Version 11.2.1
I just updated to Big Sur, and now I see redraw issues in the text editor. It seems this is a bug that has been fixed in Eclipse, but the current MCUXpresso is not on this version of Eclipse yet.
Here is a screen capture of the issue, you can't see the text as it is typed:
Here is a link to the Eclipse bug: https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=568964
Is there a way to update the Eclipse components in MCUXpresso directly?
This makes it very difficult to use the text editor for anything!
Thanks
Hi,
There is no easy way to update the current MCUX 11.3.0 to a newer eclipse platform. Since 2020.09, Eclipse is also requiring java 11 which makes incompatible some existing MCUX plugins to a the newer Eclipse version.
We have already planned Eclipse update (and also upgrade to BigSur) for our next major release (mid 2021).
Regards,
MCUXpresso IDE Support
Is there an update on this release? It is now past mid 2021...
I can't count the number of times I have introduced code errors because the IDE screen doesn't properly refresh in Big Sur!
