I update the pos several years later but I have the same question and what I understand from your answer is that you explain a loss of 66+2+512MB = 580MB but not all the 2Gb.
From boot start logs we can see that there is a Reserved area of 2702860K (see bellow). Can you explain why (and where) the kernel reserve such amount of RAM and if we can reduce it?

So, does this mean that I can't use SDRAM with memory size lower than 2G?
I found 15.6.1.1 Supported DDR SDRAM Organizations from LX2160ARM.
It shows that the board supports 1G byte SDRAM (or it must use two Banks?).
And there is a memory map for 2G (LX2160A System Memory Map)
If I use SDRAM that memory size is under 2G, does it still reserve about 2G memory size for Linux?
