Hello,
I am working on the LS1046A and trying to be able to advertise link speed for 100M, 1G, 2.5G, 5G and 10G.
However from what I understood two problems arise:
- DPAA on the LS1046A only supports 100M, 1G, 2.5G and 10G. There is no way to configure the DPAA for 5G with QSGMII (1.5.3.1 FMan Network Interfaces of the DPAA reference manual).
- The SerDes on LS1046A will not allow to have both 2.5G SGMII and XFI at the same time (Table 31-1 from the LS1046 reference manual).
This post is to ask for a confirmation of those two points and to know if there is any alternative to reach my objective.
Thanks a lot!
Alexy
Hi@SebastianG
Thank you for the reply, just to inform you that I was able to modify the DPAA driver to support and advertise 1G, 2.5G and 10G.
1G and 10G link correctly but so far no luck with the 2.5G and the 5G (I didn't find anything to modify to make 5G supported).
Sorry for the misunderstanding on my second point. We only use XFI for the port I am targeting. So my second point is not relevant for this question.
For 5G do you think something could be done to add pause frames, set the DPAA to 10G and XFI to 10G?

Hi @OXmose,
Regarding to your question "For 5G do you think something could be done to add pause frames, set the DPAA to 10G and XFI to 10G?"
In order to reach this I think is possible with the Autonegotiation of the PHY, depending of the device connected on the PHY.
HI @OXmose,
Just to let you know that I am working on your issue, When I have any update I will let you know
