We stopped running the SPEC benchmarks a while back for a variety of reasons. Primarily because by design, SPEC is really benchmark for measuring system performance, specifically a desktop computer. So, to meaningfully discuss SPEC results, you have to discuss the system it was run in which typically includes the compiler that was used since it makes a big difference.
EEMBC is designed to measure core performance across a variety of applications of interest to the embedded market. Therefore, we have decided to focus our efforts on EEMBC benchmarks since it the best way to measure our device's performance.
