LS1021A Problems with Ethernet connection on some units

We run into some connectivity problems with some of the LS1021A chips under seemingly same conditions. The board and the firmware loaded are exactly the same, but somehow 2 out of 4 tested boards couldn't connect to the ethernet. Also, connection logs and memory dumps don't show any obvious differences between the boards. I would appreciate any advice where can we search for the source of this issue.

1. In case if this is an existing design, produced for long time without any previous issues, than please check soldering by X-ray examination, component placement (all board components is they are present, properly placed and have desired value), and basic things like power supply, reset circuit, clocking end etc.

2. In case if this is a new design, and the problem you observing may be a result of some design issue, than please submit us your design schematic for further debugging. Submitting your schematic to this public forum is not correct due to intellectual property reasons, so please enter a Case to online technical support for further debugging.

To enter a case to Online Technical Support please perform the following:

1. Please open www.nxp.com
2. Click "SUPPORT" drop-down menu
3. Click "All support options" in "SUPPORT" drop-down menu
4. Enter your NXP site login/password if necessary.
5. Click "Go to Tickets" in "Support Requests" section
6. The system should redirect you to this page https://nxpcommunity.force.com/community/CommunityContextPage
7. At this page please create a new folder for support cases by clicking "Add a Folder". Typically - one folder per project.
8. When asked, enter project details - design stage, projected annual volume, end application type and application name.
9. When folder is created, please click "Add a new case" button near to folder name to create support case.

Have a great day,
Alexander,
TIC
