Trying to use the same DDR3L devices on the TWR-LS1021A-PB board for LS1021A, but they (MT41K256M16HA-125:E) are obsoleted.

Found this one on digi-key which is the closest model (higher clock speed rating but slightly smaller package):

http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/micron-technology-inc/MT41K256M16TW-107-XIT-P/557-1757-ND/6...

I think this one should work with the memory controller on LS1021A without any schematic changes from the TWR-LS1021A-PB board. But I need the confirmation from NXP experts so that I can move ahead with this DDR3L on my new board.

If there is better options please also let me know, I'd really appreciate it.

Yes, it will work the same way as with MT41K256M16HA.

No.

According to the Micron datasheet the main difference is a package (HA vs TW).

Thank you, ufedor,

The memory controller on LS1021A should work with

MT41K256M16TW-107 but at a "lower speed rate -- 800MHz", right?

And one last question, do the driver or settings and configurations in Linux need to be updated to work with this DDR3L?

Thanks,
