Cannot get USB3.0 (host mode, SuperSpeed) to work with XFRWY-LS1012A

I've been unable to connect my FRWY-LS1012A (-PA or -PB) boards to any USB3 device with SuperSpeed.

I've tried Layerscape 5.4 and 5.10 (even custom 5.15) kernels, with basically the same result.

Without USB device connected, here is the "lsusb" output:

dl3-unknown:~# lsusb
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0003 Linux Foundation 3.0 root hub
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub

When I connect a USB3 pen drive, here is what happens: the kernel generate a "usb usb2-port1: Cannot enable. Maybe the USB cable is bad?" forever every 4 second, and the device connect at low speed:

dl3-unknown:~# [ 2150.898342] usb 1-1: new high-speed USB device number 20 using xhci-hcd
[ 2151.744206] usb-storage 1-1:1.0: USB Mass Storage device detected

[ 2164.366464] usb usb2-port1: Cannot enable. Maybe the USB cable is bad?

The drive connects on the 480M port, but cannot connect to the 5000M port:

/: Bus 02.Port 1: Dev 1, Class=root_hub, Driver=xhci-hcd/1p, 5000M
/: Bus 01.Port 1: Dev 1, Class=root_hub, Driver=xhci-hcd/1p, 480M
    |__ Port 1: Dev 20, If 0, Class=Mass Storage, Driver=usb-storage, 480M

Same behaviour with:

  • Different cables
  • Different USB devices (drives, USB3 cameras)
  • Different FRWY boards (-PA, -PB)
  • With or Without USB3 Hub in between device and FRWY board.

Has someone ever being able to make this work? with which config?

Can anyone help me debug that in any way?

Thanks
