We are developing a new project using the LPC111x, and along those lines I ordered 2 LPCXpresso eval boards.

Unfortunately, I just discovered that the only development system requires Windows, which our company is not authorized to use due to an argument we had with the evil empire over unscrupulous licensing practices.

So, I have no option at all for a Microsoft OS due to their intransigence about stopping their unethical behaviour. Is there any way at all to use these development board with Linux?

Is there a way to use a simple gcc cross compiler and download to the board?

If not, can someone suggest a better evaluation platform that does work with Linux? I hate to throw away $58 plus $40 in shipping and $30 in import duties though if it can possibly be avoided.

Ideas?

Best Regards,

Chris
