Hi all,

We have our own board based on LPC1833.

I am not able to debug this board with the help of LPCLINK.

I have tried to erase the device using the flash magic, i am able to erase the FLASH BANKA but not the FLASH BANKB.

Please guide me how to erase this flash.

Regards,
Lalit Shah

There was a batch of LPC18xx devices which were incorrectly programmed with regards to the flash banks.
This means that the device is configured to start from bank #B and not from bank #A. Bank #A is not available.
But I expect this on devices with the marking ESD13050-, so I think you made a typo.

The boards you have assembled with these devices have limited functionality. "Limited" in a way that you can only work with flash bank #B.
If you have more parts from the same date code on stock, please contact your distributor or NXP FAE for a replacement of these parts.

Regards,
NXP Support Team.

Hi,

Thanks for update. Find response as below.

I am successfully able to get the device in ISP mode and i have also verified with the help of FLASH MAGIC that the device does not have any security bit set.

Also with the help of FLASH MAGIC i am able to see the memory contents of the FLASH BANKB that has been programmed in BANKB previously.

I have tried with FLASH MAGIC version 7.02.2932 and also the latest one 8.60.3755.

Device has MARKED as LPC1833FET256
                                       PKW289.00          04
                                       ESD13010-

How to erase sector directly with the help of ISP command? Will i am able to access device once i perform this action?

Also i have tested this on 3-4 different boards, but getting same result on all hardwares.

It would be worth trying to boot into ISP mode, and seeing if LPCXpresso can then connect….

Hi Lalit,
Please see comments below.

Please check all Cortex Debug connections inluding DBGEN pin. This pin should be high. If you have already programmed device try to put device in ISP Mode. May be you want to post your schematic.

Let us know the flash magic version number. Alternatively you can try ISP erase sector command directly. Also post marking on the device
