Touch sensing doesn't work with globes or overlay in LPC8xx

Hi,

I did some experiments before I use the touch sensor in the LCP804 and LPC824 and the technology doesn't work with globes or thin overlays. The experiments were performed using the demo code for both boards.

Maybe I'm missing something. I've read (almost, I guess) all the application notes on the topic. What do I need to do in order to use the touch sense with overlays? Do you have real examples in which overlays or globes are succesfully used (real examples doesn't include the marketing videos)? Any ideas?

In this video is shown that touch doesn't work with globes and overlays:

Thank you!!!

Hi Fco. Javier Rodriguez G,

Thank you for your interest in NXP Semiconductor products and for the opportunity to serve you.
I've attached an application note which demonstrates the sensitivity performance of the Capacitive Touch application, please check it.
Have a great day,
TIC

Great application note! It's beyond the demo codes in the LPC804/LPC824 included examples. I'm gonna try it immediatly! Just two things:

1.- I need to get the source code for the LPC845 Touch Board mentioned in the AN. I'll do it myself.

2.- The calibration tool is for windows os. There are bunch of freaky developers out there that are using Linux instead, me among them. Those tools don't work with Wine.

Anyway, I'll let you know my results ASAP :smileywink:
