Hello,
I have exactly this issue but with LPC51U68:
Grant Trebbin: "The directory name is invalid" on the NXP LPC19459 in USB mode
TLDR; When ISP invoked in windows 10, the CRP DISABLED mass storage shows as a device in the device manager, but the storage is not accessible. It just says "The directory name is invalid". On linux it works fine.
Has anyone dealt with this issue or found some workaround on WIN10 to make it work?
Having customer to boot linux to update firmware is kind of clumsy :smileyhappy:
Thank you!
Martin
Hi Martin,
I think this is due to the computer you're using. First when you connect the device it should have a binary containg the previous firmware. You need to erase it before drag and drop the new file.
Also the device should be recognized as the following one.
If one of this doesn't work I would try to:
- Change the USB Port are you using.
- Try to use the windows error checking to see if there's any error present.
Let me know your findings.

Hello Alexis,
thank you for the reply.
Unfortunately I cannot switch to different USB, because it's currently hardwired on the PCB.
Trying to check for errors doesn't help, because clicking the Check button in CRP DISABLD's disk properties yields message"The disk check could not be performed because Windows can't access the disk".
I'll have to find some other way.
Best Regards,
Martin
Dear Martin,
It's a shame that is already hardwire to your windows 10 computer. Also other think you could try is uninstalling and installing the device in the device manager or if this doesn't work either update the driver that is using.
Let me know if this helps you.
Best Regards,
