Hi,

I know that the LPC15xx Family is not the newest. But  I think it should still be usable for new projects.

What's making me nerves is that there seems to be very little support for this Family:

- the Librery I found is from 2016 (V2.20 made for LPCXpresso 8.0.0!)

- there is no pinmux tool for this Family on the NXP site (I have a tool called LPCInit back from 2015)

Can I Use this Family in an new Project?

Hello Martin,

In new project, do not recommend choose LPC15xx series, they remains in longevity program until 2024.

Recommend use new series, for example LPC55xx or LPC54xx.

Thanks for the answer, it's a little disappointing, and if I really have to relay on the longevity list, I can not use half of the listed lpc MCU's (lpc1200, lpc1300, lpc1500, lpc3100 and all the lpc2xxx MCU, and probably the loc800, lpc1100, lpc1700, lpc1800, lpc4000 and lpc4300 families who expire in 5 to 6 years to!). How are the probabilities that the lpc1500 family will remain in production after the end of the longevity program? ( Is there a list of LPC MCU's that are already out of production? )

Hello Martin,

Sorry this is hard to say, we can't confirm whether it will continue output, marking team will consider this . Maybe you can ask your local sales and distributor .
