Hi, Our supplier has told us the LPC1788FBD208 is end of life, is this true?

If so are we still able to do final purchases and what is it replacement?

Hi Ollie

LPC1788FBD208 launch time is Oct,2013, 15-year longevity. So its expiration time is Oct,2028. We can guarantee supply before this time.

Have a nice day,

Hi ZhangJennie,

I have the same problem.

Big distributors like digi-key and elements told me that LPC1788FBD208,551 will not be manufactured anymore.

The LPC1788FBD208K has leadtimes of at least 1 year at digi-key, avnet and mouser.

How can you guarantee the longevity till 2028 if I can not buy it anymore?

I need to make a redesign of an existing project that used this microcontroller. Is there any alternative or successor?

Hi

The difference of LPC1788FBD208,551 and LPC1788FBD208K is packing. chip itself is exactly the same.

LPC1788FBD208 longevity time is 2028. The packing doesn't affect LPC1788FBD208 longevity.

The technical forums on this site are for engineer-to-engineer discussions around technical topics. We especially see the benefit of re-usable content which contributes to a knowledge repository.

Your question about delivery times is understandable, given the overall industrial situation with supply of semiconductors. There are many analysis articles posted in many of the specialized publications about this, they are giving a good background about the initial trigger and dynamics that happened to our industry within the last year.

However, please understand that we will not discuss this in more detail here in the forum, especially as it is not a technical "how to use" knowledge: in a while from now nobody wants to see content which is by definition outdated by then anyway.

Have a nice day
