Can i use SPI on development board or do i have to use SPIFI?

Hi there,

I am currently using the LPCxpresso546 development board. I was just wondering is it possible to talk to the W25Q128JVFIM FLASH chip through SPI alone and without using SPIFI?

Hope you are doing well.

Yes it is possible to interface with standard SPI. Checking the datasheet of the part number you have provided it supports the following including SPI.

Please note that the SPIFI focuses on interface with SPI flash only, the SPI is an interface which can connect to a lot devices including flash.
