Why would some Freescale/NXP personnel recommend the K70 only to find that it isn't supported in KDS/KSDK?

And why is the K70 widely used (Emcraft, Samsung, etc) but not supported?

Hi,

Well, as a technical supporter here I really can not give a overall answer for this question. I am pretty sure it is should per marketing issue. Actually Kinetis Deisgn Studio (KDS) does support K70. Kinetis Software Development Kit (KSDK) does not support K70 and there are not plans to support it. For K70 development, we recommend Processor Export, which supplies the components for LCD controller,  Nand Flash Memory, USB Adapter and MQX.
