K60 8 bit only flex bus

Hello,

I'm looking into the details of a new HW design and I am planning on using the Flexbus in 8 bit multiplexed mode to connect to an FPGA.

I have no need to connect any more than the 8 multiplexed bits and support strobes and clock to the FPGA.

Are there any issues of not enabling the flexbus mode of the other 24 AD IOs?

I would like to use those IO for other purposes.

Thanks!

All I don't even need a full8 bits of address for this particular design. Thank you for confirming pin usage. That is very helpful.

Hi, Nick,

I see that you want to use FlexBus of K60 to read/write FPGA, how many bytes do you want to access FPGA? it is related to the address pins you have to connected.

I think you have to connect the FB_AD[7:0](assume the byte size you access is less than 256), CLKOUT pin and FB_ALE, you can design a flip-flop to latch the low address lines, connect the  FB_OE, FB_CSx and FB_RW signal so that you can read/write the FPGA.

In conclusion, pls connect FB_AD[7:0],CLKOUT, FB_ALE,FB_OE, FB_CSx and FB_RW.

Hope it can help you
