If the Kinetis I2s the module could be connected as Slave Sierra Gsm module is master in pcm.

The waveforms are similar but not exactly the same for that question.
The Fs of kinetis is half clock cycle advance respect to the drawing of the Sierra.

In the file i2s ....... is the drawing that shows the Kinetis Slave mode and file Sierra_pcm this drawing that shows the Sierra.

Question: Is it possible to configure the I2S module of Kinetis for it to work in slave mode gsm module (pcm) Siera Wireless

Hi Joan,

I think it should be ok. The half clock cycle in FS couldn't be a problem. FS is asserted by modem with the clock 'low' and Kinetis figure shows FS asserted when clock is 'high'. But Kinetis will read the bit after falling edge of clock (S18) with modem data valid in the same point  and the data valid write by Kinetis will be after falling edge of clock, modem get data in the same point (Tin-hold).

I thin the modem diagram is confusing because is showing firts the bit0 of the previous word, and then the bit 15 of the next word, after FS is asserted.

At least,it is my view.

Best Regards,

Luis,

Thanks for your reply Luis.

We will check the logic analyzer signals  and send you the result.
