Availability of Precompiled Projects and Documentation for FRDM-K64F?

I recently downloaded the quick-start for the FRDM-K64F and started to play with it. Unfortunately, the ZIP includes neither documentation about the precompiled projects nor the very interesting originally-preloaded accelerometer/LED demonstration project. Does Freescale have any of this material available?

Hi,

Here is the link (FRDM-K64F: Freescale Freedom Development Platform for Kinetis K64, K63, and K24 MCUs) to obtain the Quick Start Package, navigate to Jump Start your Design and select for Quick Start for the FRDM-K64F.

. . . That's exactly what I downloaded. I'm asking if there is more content or upcoming content for this board.

Hi,

Attached is the precompiled out-of-box experience binary file that will come with the board. If you got your board from FTF, it may not have the image preloaded. We will provide more content for FRDM-K64F later on.

Do you have any more information available?

In particular, it would be nice to see some additional content in the FRDM example programs on mbed. The current frdm_* programs are very simple and don't demonstrate any features particular to the FRDM boards.

HI

See the following thread, which has an interesting application for the FRDM-K64F: Errors with the FRDM-K64F and KDS demonstrating interrupt driven accelerometer, ADC/DAC in DMA mode, DMA driver UART, sound recording of WAV file to SD card, USB-MSD and DOS-like command line interface to file system via the UART and TELNET, Web server and FTP from SD card, multiple IP addresses (fixed and DHCP addresses at the same time), SNMP, IGMP multicast group operation and some other stuff too.

All souce code (including boot loader for the FRDM-K64F supporting UART, USB-MSD, USB-HID, SD card and Ethernet Web server) available at KINETIS Project Code

Allows FRDM-K64F to be simulated and code testing, debugging using VisualStudio: New Freedom FRDM-K64F board

and can be built with KDS, CW10.5, IAR, Keil uVision, Rowley Crossworks, Atollic, GCC-makefile and CooCox CoIDE.

Almost everything is documented at µTasker - Documentation

Supported here or at the project's own forum: http://www.utasker.com/forum/

Regards

Mark

I'd like to 2nd the intent of the original question - it would be nice to see code released with all binaries.

As a development platform I'm not interested in .bin unless I can see how they are created. Seems obvious that is how the other open-source communities are being created.
