KDS3 builds get slower and slower

I'm seeing something peculiar with subsequent builds in KDS.  If I do a clean build, it starts off building things quickly, and takes maybe 10-15 seconds to do a full build.  After changing a setting that forces a clean build, it gets slower and slower with subsequent builds to where it takes nearly 5 minutes to build!  CPU usage is at 100% every time it calls the Gnu compiler.  If I reboot the machine, it's fine and back to building quickly.  Windows 7 64-bit, 8 GB RAM.  Builds are local to the machine, not going over the network.  Any ideas?

Is the compiler using 100% of the CPU time? So there might be something slowing down the compiler. Could you check the compiler include path settings, if they make sense? Maybe the compiler is asked to search for the header files in too many places?

I have seen strange things happening with some firewalls and virus scanners. Try to turn them off to see if this has an impact.
