KDS + pydev on Mac fails (but works in Windows)

KDS 3.0 Mac OS, I installed pydev just fine from http://pydev.org/updates (via Install software under help).

However, when searching or picking a python interpreter - I get:

java.io.IOException: Cannot run program "/usr/local/bin/python3": error=0, spawn failed

This error occurs even on base python that Apple distributes.

This works fine on Eclipse Luna and KDS 3.0 for Windows.

Any idea why it doesn't work for Mac?

officially,  the supporting working platform for is KDS3.0

Host operating systems:

• Windows® 7/8 (32 and 64-bit)
• Linux® 64-bit (Ubuntu 10.04 (deb), RedHat/Centos 7 (rpm))
• Mac OS 10.10 ("Yosemite")

are you sure you are using Mac OS 10.10 ("Yosemite") but not other lower version?

Yes, 10.10.3 is what I have.

As a work around I'm just using Windows...
