Installation of KDS 3.0.0 in linux

Hi all,

I have downloaded the KDS 3.0.0 installer for linux -- Kinetis Design Studio installer for Linux 64-bit DEB 3.0.0.bin.

My laptop is running Ubuntu 14.04.2 64 bit.

I have made the bin file executable first and then issued the command -- ./Kinetis\ Design\ Studio\ installer\ for\ Linux\ 64-bit\ DEB\ 3.0.0.bin in the terminal.

Then I get the following error --

Is there anyone for help/suggestions?

You have to rename the .bin file to .deb, then just double click it to open the ubuntu software center to install it

It will install the application in /opt. Go there in a terminal and as root do a chown for the whole directory. Something like

root$: chown -R sandip /Freescale

That will change all the files over to you and you won't have to run the KDS as root.
