Hi guys,

I'm just starting out so any help would be great !

I'm trying to write some simple code to send and receive data from the serial port.

I have a MCF52223-SK development Board (from IAR).

Thank you

"any help" is good... What environment do you have? Which version of that environment? What documentation did you read but have difficulties with? What did you try? What problems did you experience that you cannot seem to solve?
Surely, you're not expecting us to write your simple application for you?

Thx, I'll try to be as direct and simple as you,

What environment do you have? Which version of that environment?

I have the "IAR Embedded Workbench® for ColdFire" it was provided with my kit, here's the link:

http://www.iar.com/website1/1.0.1.0/658/1/?item=prod_prod-s1/244&group=prod_prod_grp-s1/35

What documentation did you read but have difficulties with?

I found a doc in the cd they provided, but I'm having trouble understanding it. (it's attached)

What did you try?

Understand the document ( how the uart modules work on my kit )

What problems did you experience that you cannot seem to solve?

I don't know how to reach the uart module, and extract or send data to it.

Surely, you're not expecting us to write your simple application for you?

Well I was hoping if somebody is familiar with this kind of applications, will give me a start point.

It might seem that I'm just waiting for your code, but I'm really working hard on my own.

Hi

Usually I would say that you can get everything you need at www.uTasker.com - the UART user's manual is http://www.utasker.com/docs/uTasker/uTaskerUART.PDF

However I haven't actually heard of anyone using the IAR kit before, so have to admit that there is no IAR project included. However the simulator still allows running and testing an M52223 (including UARTs), which will allow all operation to be studied and understood before moving it to the IAR environment.

Regards

Mark
