Flash Programmer buggy in CW 7.0, Build 15, with M52233DEMO

I have:
CodeWarrior Development Studio for ColdFire Architectures Version 7.0, Build 15
M52233DEMO
and use MCF52233_INTFLASH.xml to flash via the USB-port.

The more times I flash in a CW session the more problems with erase and programming. The only thing that helps is to restart CW. Some times erase goes fast but then programming fails. Some times erase takes long time and then programming usually works, but some times it fails. Flash erasing and programming hangs in different ways. Restarting CW helps, I don't have to reset the board.

Is there a way to fix this?

Is there an alternative method of flashing? Say, a stable command line utility. I know where the ELF-file that is sent is located.

Unfortunately with CW_ColdFire_7.1_SE.exe flashing didn't improve for me -- I still have the same errors and problems.

I also tried plugging it into other USB-ports on the back of the computer -- but no improvement.

I tried to use CF Flasher 3.1.9 but I could not configure it. I get an error "Could not initialize BDM device" even after trying many settings.

This won't help you either but just to show that problems can happen...

A friend of mine just assembled a new PC based on some ASUS motherboard. He tried programming a 52233DEMO board but programming always failed, no matter which USB port was used. It worked neither with Codewarrior nor with CFFlasher. Erasing the board did work however.

Frustrated as we got with this, we finally tried using a PCI USB adapter card and what do you guess... it worked!
