This CCS:Network timeout message is usually emitted for the Ethernet TAP. Please make sure that you have the USB TAP chosen in your project settings>Remote Debugging>Connection.

Please create a new stationery project with the CodeWarrior EPPC New Project Wizard for your evaluation board and USB TAP, then debug this project for testing your CodeWarrior/USB TAP/board setup.

If the problem continues, please create a service request here and attach your CCS log - in project settings->Remote Debugging->Connection Settings->Edit please check "Enable Logging" before the debug session. Also please attach your CodeWarrior Help->About...->Installed Products->Save as file and specify your board name (is it a custom board?).

Thank you.

Please update the USB TAP firmware from CodeWarrior for Power Architecture by means of the CCS command "updateutap" as described in CodeWarrior install folder\Help\PDF\CodeWarrior USB TAP User's Guide.pdf, chapter "Reprogramming the USB TAP Firmware Image" (if getting CCSProtocolPlugin:CCS:USB open failure error together with USB TAP Tx/Rx LEDs flashing red this might indicate a probe damage). For the firmware writing operation you should have only the USB TAP with this problem connected to your computer. Also please use the USB TAP with the default settings.

I recommend using the current version of CodeWarrior for Power Architecture 8.7 (it seems you are using an older version (go to your CW menu, Help->About...->Installed Products for checking the CW version) and update your USB TAP firmware from this version.

I hope this helps,

Black

hI black,

We got this error (CCSProtocolPlugin:CCS:USB open failure error together with USB TAP Tx/Rx LEDs flashing red) when you are using the code warrior for our board MPC8343.

As you said, we tried the updation of the USB TAP firmware from CodeWarrior using the command "updateutap". Here also we got the same problem as "usb open failure".

we checked the connectivity of the USB probe and also we checked the power of the code warrior board. Ever thing is fine.

What will be the problem?????

Can you help us.. Thanks in advance.
