Freescale Codewarrior 5.9.0 build 2330 upgrade for QE8 MCU's

Hello friends. I am using this compiler that came with my evaluation board. I can make projects for QE128, QE64 and QE96, but I don't have support for QE8's. I already visited the Freescale's 8 bit micrcontroller website for an upgrade but I can't find it. If I try to upgrade my version directly from the software via internet, it seems that there is nothing to upgrade.

Any ideas ?

The version number you provided is for the CodeWarrior IDE. To get the actual tool version number, choose Help > About Freescale CodeWarrior > Installed Products.

Sometimes you actually have to download a patch file to get support for certain MCU families.

I could obtain the text file containing what I have actually installed and I attached it.
I can't really tell wich is the compiler file, maybe you can help me.
The question is if there is an update for QE8 and where to obtain it.

Hi BooleanBob,

I'd strongly recommend you to install the most recent release of CodeWarrior for MCUs v6.2 (Special Edition) and Compiler Patch v6.2.1. This verison fixes several defects and supports recent MCU derivatives.

If you insist on using older CodeWarrior release v6.0 I'd suggest you to install all the updates for v6.0 available here:

The compiler that I am using is the one that came in the box of my DEMOQE box that I bought one month ago from our local Arrow Electronics branch in Buenos Aires. I didn't know that one could download a tool without buying a demo kit. By that time, the QE8 existed, so I don't understand why it wasn't provided. So I will try your suggestion.

In fact my CW v6.0 offers QE8 derivative in the project wizard. I'm not sure if it's supported due to the fact I've installed several Service Packs (including SP QE128) or if it's already supported by clean V6.0 installation.
Anyway, I'd suggest you to install v6.2 + patches & SPs.

I have installed the 6.2 version and now the QE8 support appears as it should.
Problem solved.
I am sorry that I didn't know that the complete compiler could be downloaded this way.
